Highly rated speaking lessons
Students love these Spanish classes focused on conversational skills.
Does this sound familiar?
- You’ve been using apps for months, but when someone speaks to you, you still freeze and can’t respond naturally.
- You know basic grammar rules and vocabulary but when it’s time to speak, nothing comes out the way you want.
- You feel embarrassed speaking Spanish, so you avoid conversations and miss opportunities to practise.
- You study Spanish on your own consistently, but rarely get the chance to speak with real people and build confidence.
- You’re preparing for the DELE exam, but the speaking part makes you anxious because you don’t feel fluent enough.
- You’ve tried group classes before, but they were too big, and you didn’t get enough time to actually speak and practise.
- You translate in your head before speaking, which slows you down and makes conversations stressful.
My online Spanish conversation classes for beginners are designed to solve these challenges, giving you the space and structure to use what you already know while naturally learning new words, phrases, and expressions in live conversations.
Hi there! I'm Carmen
I’m a native Spanish speaker from Spain. I also speak English and Portuguese, and I’m currently learning Italian.
As a language learner myself, I know exactly what it feels like to be a beginner: wanting to say something but not finding the right words, or feeling too shy to speak.
I’ve realized the fastest way to improve is by speaking more, in a relaxed environment where mistakes are expected and welcomed, and that’s exactly what I’m here for.
My approach is nothing like a traditional class. In my lessons, you talk while I guide, correct naturally, suggest better ways to say things… and the most important thing: we all have fun!
I love teaching because Spanish is more than a language: it’s a gateway to Spain’s culture, food, history, humour, and the wider Spanish-speaking world.

What you'll achieve with these lessons
These aren’t just conversation classes — they’re a structured path to real progress. Here’s what we work towards together:
Speak without freezing
Lose the mental block that stops you from talking. You’ll learn to think in Spanish instead of translating in your head.
Use grammar naturally
Present, future, past tenses, irregular verbs — we practise it all through real conversation so it becomes something you say.
Learn new vocabulary
Learn new words in context, not on a flashcard list. I’ll help you say things the way we would, instead of just word for word.
Gain real confidence
Walk away from each class feeling confident enough to start a conversation and keep going even when you make mistakes.
Connect with our culture
Understand not just how Spanish language works, but how Spanish speakers think, joke, and see the world.
Build a speaking habit
Progress comes from regular practice. With flexible booking and no fixed schedule, it’s easy to show up as often as you need.
What a typical class looks like
Every session is built around a topic and structured so that you’re speaking from the very first minute. Here’s how my Spanish lessons for beginners usually flow:
-
Introductions & warm welcome
We start with a quick round of introductions — your name, where you're from, why you chose this topic, something curious about yourself. A low-pressure way to ease in and get to know each other.
-
Class goals & key structures
I provide a brief overview of what we will cover, including the vocabulary topic, relevant grammar points, and the language skills we will focus on.
-
Warm-up questions
A few lighter questions to get everyone talking and comfortable. Think of it as stretching before a run — by the end of this, the nerves are gone.
-
Into the topic — varied activities
This is where the real speaking practice happens. We engage in a variety of activities designed to help you communicate naturally and effectively.
-
Wrap-up & takeaways
We close with a quick recap of the most useful expressions from the session — things worth remembering and using outside of class.
What makes these Spanish classes different?
From the first minute, you’ll be speaking about real topics, current events and everyday situations. I guide the conversation, introduce new vocabulary in context, and correct naturally without breaking your flow.
100% conversation
You speak from minute one. No passive listening, no long grammar lectures.
Max. 5 students
Enough to feel like a real conversation, small enough for real attention and feedback.

Interesting topics
Current affairs, culture, daily life — classes you’ll actually look forward to.
DELE-style tasks
Activities modelled on the oral expression tasks of the DELE A1–A2 exam.
Safe environment
A relaxed, judgement-free space where you can practise while learning and having fun.
Who are these lessons for?
These online beginner Spanish conversation classes work best if you already have some foundation, but speaking still feels uncomfortable or you simply need more practice. For example:
- You are a self-learner using apps or books but never get real speaking practice.
- You are an expat or language assistant in Spain wanting to connect better with locals.
- You are an Erasmus student who wants to get the most out of your stay.
- You are preparing for the DELE A1 or A2 and dread the oral exam.
- You know some Spanish but need confidence, fluency, and practice—not more theory.
What other students said about these
Spanish Speaking lessons for beginners
I was preparing for my citizenship test and DELE A2, but speaking was very challenging for me. These classes gave me the confidence and practical skills to face the test and use Spanish daily.

Liza R.
I really enjoy my lessons with Carmen. The topics are interesting, the group is small enough that there’s always time for everyone, and I always feel comfortable asking questions when needed.

Aoife O.
I had been using apps for almost a year but every time I tried to speak I would just freeze. Carmen is incredibly patient, her Spanish is very clear and easy to follow, and she never makes you feel judged.

Lukas F.
I moved to Spain as a language assistant, and my Spanish was very basic. I was too shy to speak with people outside work. Carmen’s classes gave me the confidence I needed to truly enjoy my time in Spain.

Frequently asked questions

These lessons are designed to help beginners gain confidence from day one. We cover key grammar topics for A1–A2 levels—like the present indicative, past tenses, the future, and more—through natural conversation.
You’ll also practice real-life topics and everyday conversation, such as giving personal information, sharing experiences, expressing your opinion, and navigating daily situations.
The lessons are highly visual, so you can follow along even if you don’t understand every word, making it easy to join in and start speaking Spanish right away.
That’s exactly why these classes exist. I won’t correct every single thing you say — only what matters, and always in a way that keeps the conversation flowing.
If you go blank, I’ll help you find the word. There’s no pressure and no judgement!
The slides include images and key structures to help you follow the meaning even when a word is new.
If you’re really stuck, I can help in English or Portuguese. I’ll always show you how to say it naturally in Spanish, not just translate it word for word.
Apps, books, and other resources are great for building basic habits, but they usually don’t give you real conversational practice.
Speaking is a skill you develop by actually speaking — with real people, in real time. That’s exactly what these lessons are designed for!
Yes, they are! I include activities based on the oral expression and interaction tasks of the DELE A1 and A2 exams, so you get familiar with the format and build confidence for the speaking section, usually the most feared part of the test.
No, you don’t! I publish sessions regularly and you can book the ones that work for you — no fixed schedule, no subscription, no minimum commitment.
Of course, the more you practise, the faster you’ll improve, but it’s entirely up to you.
There will be a maximum of 5 students. I keep groups small on purpose — enough people to make conversation feel natural, few enough that everyone gets real speaking time and personal feedback.
A device with a camera and microphone, a decent internet connection, and the desire to speak Spanish. We will use Google Meet, so no download needed to join a session.
